I expected better from Honbay

The overall process in cancelling this order was a pain. I initially placed an order for the sofa on Black Friday this year. I ended up finding out that another sectional that I wanted was back in stock, so I reached out to this company about an hour after the order was placed to cancel it.

Their Customer service is only reachable via email (which should have been a red flag, but I digress). It turns out their support team is based in Japan so they only responded to emails at night based on my timezone (NY Eastern time). Not only that but there's a small window of time to reply to their messages before waiting another day or so for response.

I was back and forth with their rep Jacob via email. He initially told me that the item was in transit already and the order somehow couldn't be stopped. Meanwhile it turns out the FedEx label was only created and the sofa didn't leave their warehouse. I received 2 of the 3 boxes delivered after numerous exchanges in them trying to persuade me to keep the product. They were able to stop the last shipment as part of the cancellation process, which left me part of a sectional.

I did get a full refund and was also told that I could keep the boxes that did end up making it to my house. Based on how the pieces of the sofa I got and how it felt sitting on the partial sofa piece, it was comfortable enough to say that I could recommend it. Had I not canceled, everything else would have come as scheduled (and these boxes came at a reasonable delivery time). I am just disappointed by the Customer Service. So be mindful if you decide to shop here and be certain of what you choose because the return process could be a nightmare.
