HONBAY 8-Piece Polyester Modular Sectional With Storage Seat

I’m glad I read all of the reviews so I had an idea of what to expect upon delivery. Some key notes to keep in mind:
• This is a ‘for now couch, not forever couch’
• This couch is smaller, its apartment or den sized
• This couch is firm, but comfortable. It’s comfortable enough that you should be able to sit on it and watch some TV or if you have a guest I don’t think the first thing they’re gonna think is “this couch is awful”.
It’s decent. It’s softer than the mcm futon trendy couches on Amazon / Wayfair. But it’s not sink into cushy oversized type couch like a Joybird or LoveSac. In the picture I have linked you can see my husband using the chaise, my husband is 6ft.
• Customer service was prompt and helpful as I waited for delivery. I was glad for this.
• Delivery was such a pain. The seller shipped each piece of the couch individually so we received seven separate boxes for the three seat / three Ottoman combo. This included three boxes with Ottomans, three boxes with the seats and an extra box that had the sides of the couch. FedEx was the problem, not the seller -as we were told a delivery would be made on a certain day and then two days later we finally got the delivery etc.. some of my boxes arrived a bit damaged but the item inside was fine.
• the instructions they give you are not horribly hard to understand but I think it depends on the person - my husband got kind of frustrated and walked away from the project and I took over finishing the couches. Once you get an idea of what you’re doing it’s pretty easy. These couches remind me of something you might get from IKEA in terms of quality and assembly. There are four plastic legs for each ottoman and seat and a plastic washer that goes on each leg before screwing it into the bottom of the seat. There are two metal pieces that screw into each seat back and then they get hooked into the small holes on the back of the seat bottoms. That’s it. The side pieces are the same. It also comes with something that looks like a drawer handle but they’re actually connectors so that you can connect each section of the couch and keep them from moving around or moving away from each other. You get a free screwdriver with each seat and we had a few extra pieces of hardware which will come in handy if we ever need it.
• overall I wasn’t expecting much from the couch and I was a little irritated because it wasn’t really the couch I wanted it’s the couch I could afford, but after getting it set up, I’m not as displeased as I thought I’d be and it’s actually a fine couch for our living situation and our budget for the time.

• I will update my review within the next six months and if I can remember to, I will update it again a year to date. I wish more people did this in the reviews because it really makes a difference knowing what to expect going forward.

I did a lot of research and read a lot of reviews before buying this couch and boy was I STILL nervous. Nothing like putting out $1300 on a couch you haven’t tested. I’m so glad we bought it. I love the compartment storage, color, and how easy it is to re-configure for movie nights. My biggest concern was dog hair, and this couch does not disappoint! Our dogs’ hair does not stick to this couch and easily comes off with my Shark Vacuum. The only thing I don’t like is the backs of the chairs don’t 100% align and I don’t understand why. Also I wanted the insert from this company for a console. Couldn’t find it on platform and the company was not helpful at helping me find it. So 4 stars. Bought a couch console table with outlets but still I wanted it to find that piece specifically. Otherwise, Stop reading and just buy it. Still happy with our purchase.

You will see attached some pictures and videos pointing out what I love about this couch. You just throw the legs on and the back then boom, you are good to go. The threads are buttery smooth and aren't "crunchy" like you see in some products. (See video) I also love the way this couch locks together with the bars inside the storage cavity, I was skeptical at first that it would lock them together firmly but I was quickly proven wrong.

Shipping time was another area where this sectional truly impressed me. Despite my initial skepticism about online furniture shopping, the delivery was prompt and efficient. While I did run into one snafu with shipping, Honbay, was quick to remedy the situation expertly and efficiently. To my delight, the couch arrived well-packaged and in pristine condition without any defects. It was evident that the manufacturer had taken great care in ensuring its safe arrival and to their packaging.

Lastly, the aesthetics of this sectional are simply wonderful. It effortlessly elevates the style of my loft, becoming the focal point that draws compliments from everyone who has visited so far. This is a great couch. I bought it to replace a different sectional couch that was all falling apart at the seems (after only two years!). So I made sure to get the five year warranty on this couch, just in case. And I looked for a couch that didn’t have a lot of stitching on it, as that was the fail points on the old couch.

I wanted a sectional to fit a slightly odd size space I have but give me as much seating as possible. We’re a family of six, and we all fit on here.

This came in nine big boxes, none of them terribly heavy. Each box had instructions in it, so you can start with whichever one you want. The legs and hardware are inside the pull up seats. The hardware packs also include legit screwdrivers. I was surprisingly impressed with the quality of the screwdrivers. I don’t need to keep them, as I own a lot of tools, but they were good enough that I’m donating them rather than throwing them away. There are no Allen wrenches involved with the assembly of this couch.

Assembly is very simple and straightforward. With the corner backs, pay attention to the attachment hooks to connect it to the base. They are slightly larger than the others and you’ll have a hard time getting the too small ones to fit on the base. (Speaking from experience). I liked that there were extras of all the screws, hooks, and base connectors.

It’s my personal preference to connect the ottomans to the couch pieces so it’s a big square. I have four kids and three dogs, and I like to have things not shift around.

The fact that every one of the bases, ottomans and seats, lifts up for storage is great. Many great spots for every one to have their own couch blanket or throw pillow, stored in their own cubby. Or you could keep holiday pillows or linens in them.

The couch is fairly firm, but a very comfortable level of firm. The backrest hits about shoulder blade level on me (I’m 5’9”). With the ottomans close in to the couch, you lounge in every spot. My feet are in no danger of falling off the edge, even when I’m slouching down/reclining to binge watch movies.

Shipping was quicker than expected, though there were 9 boxes that arrived over a few days. Customer service was very responsive, good tracking on shipments as well. Items arrived well packaged and were easy to assemble. Looks good and is comfortable. They are somewhat small in scale, but that is something I needed and the storage in each piece is a huge plus. The only thing to be seen is how the fabric holds up and how the overall construction holds up. Due to the nature of how it’s made, there is some play in the overall assembly. Color options are limited but a good selection, though I did choose to paint the feet from black to brown to resemble wood. Happy with the purchase so far and would recommend, especially at the price.
